People embrace each other in a spirit of reconciliation, forgiveness, and gratitude. Every nook and corner presents a colorful sight: young and old alike covered in colour, singing, dancing, laughing together.

Don’t miss the Colour Throw Event called Holi/ Festival of Colours on July 21st @ 3 pm @ Marina Park, Thunder Bay.

VEGETARIAN FEAST

Vegetarianism in Indian culture is viewed as an essential step towards a better society. It can improve health and prevent disease such as cancer and heart disease. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association “Ninety to ninety-seven percent of heart disease can be prevented by a vegetarian diet”. Economically, much farmland is required to grow the grain that feeds livestock in order to produce meat. According to information compiled by the US Department of Agriculture, over 90% of all the grain produced in America goes to feed livestock that is exclusively being raised for meat including cows, pics, sheep and chickens. The same study states that for every sixteen pounds of grain fed to cattle, we get back only one pound of meat. Harvard nutritionist Jean Mayer estimates that bringing down meat production by 10% would release enough grain to feed sixty million people

Henna Tatto

HENNNA TATTO

What Are Henna Tattoos?
Not all tattoos are carried out with needles and pain. A henna tattoo is one of the exceptions to the standard scenario, and a beautiful one at that.

Henna has spread throughout the world, making a lasting impression with its deep color and intriguing designs. A henna tattoo is made with dye from the henna plant. The tattoo is often made with a specific amount of henna powder mixed with other ingredients, such as water or tea. The paste is placed in a small piping bag and then piped on the skin.
Henna is a common wedding tradition throughout Asia and the Middle East. Countries like Singapore, Egypt, Bangladesh, and Morocco use henna as a pre-wedding ritual. The families will host a small party for the bride, groom, and their guests—similar in a way to a bachelorette or bachelor party.
